The story

Amiata Suite was born from the dream of a family deeply attached to the territory of Monte Amiata, a unique place in southern Tuscany, rich in natural resources, breathtaking landscapes and a vibrant cultural history. We are in Abbadia San Salvatore and the family in question is the Forti family. The Forti family has a long experience in the tourism sector, gained also through Amiata Viaggi, their tourist transport company, which offers chauffeur-driven transfers, guided tours and tailor-made activities such as tastings and sports. Gabriele, the founder's son, proudly recounts how his father turned a dream into reality: enhancing the tourism potential of a town historically linked to the mining industry. Amiata Suite is not just a hotel; it is the symbol of a new breath for the community, which has found in the family's accommodation and tourism activities an opportunity to promote the area and change the local mindset, creating a culture of hospitality.

The challenge

The structure, elegantly renovated by Daniela, Paolo and their son Gabriele, assisted by his wife Alice and little Sara, represents a modern concept of hospitality. It combines the autonomy of a stay in a flat with the availability of services designed to make each experience unique. However, the opening of Amiata Suite in 2021 was not without its difficulties. One of the main challenges was to transform a traditionally industry-oriented town into a welcoming tourist destination. Gabriele's family was faced with the task of making the local community, from institutions to businesses, aware of the importance of investing in tourism and culture. "Today, at last, even the village bar breathes welcome and institutions organise cultural events for tourists," Gabriele says, testifying to a change that required perseverance and an innovative approach. At the same time, it was crucial for Amiata Suite to optimise the management of bookings and increase revenue in a context characterised by lower prices compared to big cities.
